What are 5 unique questions you can ask at the end of an interview?
Here are 5 unique questions that you could ask at the conclusion of the interview:
1. What is the biggest difference between good and great employees in this position?
This question shows your genuine interest in self-improvement. Employers want candidates who are willing and want to get better. Showing an employer that you are desirous to get better, particularly at the end of the interview, is a great way to close an interview on a good note.
2. You mentioned [Idea X] earlier in the interview and I wanted to understand that better. What did you mean?
Asking a follow-up question at the end of the interview is a great way to show an employer that you were truly listening and invested in the interview. You don’t even need to ask this specific question. Just ask a question like it that shows that you were paying attention throughout the interview.
3. After this interview, do you have any concerns about my experience or resume that I might be able to clear up?
This is a question that you need to be careful with. While it could give you a second chance at speaking in favor of your skills and capabilities, it could also rub an interviewer the wrong way. Use this question with caution.
4. When can I expect to hear back from you?
This is a great way to show an employer that you are interested. If you care enough to ask about when you will hear back, it’s a great sign to employers that you are invested in the process and the job.
5. What does the interview process look like moving forward?
If you want to be a little bolder, ask them what the remainder of the interview process will look like. Be careful to ask this in the right tone so it is not off-putting.
