What you'll be Driving

This is more than managing dirt and deadlines—it’s about leading bold development efforts that shape entire communities.

As Director of Land Development, you’ll be at the helm of some of Utah’s most ambitious master-planned projects. From strategy to streetlights, you’ll guide land through its full evolution—from untouched acreage to builder-ready lots.

Your Impact in Three Key Moves:

Lead Complex Land Development
Navigate large-scale, multi-phase projects with precision, vision, and technical expertise.

Own the Process End-to-End
Drive everything from entitlement and infrastructure to final platting and builder delivery.

Create Communities That Endure
Ensure every project reflects LHMRE’s values—thoughtful, connected, and built to enrich lives.

Technical Expertise Required

Land Development Execution
Lead full-cycle land development—from raw land to infrastructure delivery.

Oversee grading, road construction, stormwater systems, and utility installation.

Manage multi-phase projects and public-private coordination.

Civil Engineering Application
Apply strong civil engineering fundamentals to guide development strategy.

Interpret and review grading plans, hydrology studies, and road alignments.

Collaborate with consultants to ensure engineering solutions meet project goals.

Entitlements & Due Diligence
Navigate zoning, permitting, and municipal coordination across jurisdictions.

Lead entitlement strategy and risk assessment early in the project lifecycle.

Anticipate roadblocks and advise on feasibility with technical clarity.

Planning & Site Design Integration
Connect big-picture planning with real-world engineering constraints.

Integrate residential, commercial, and mixed-use goals into viable site layouts.

Coordinate across architectural, landscape, and utility disciplines.

Lot Development & Vertical Readiness
Prepare lots for builder delivery—on time, on budget, and fully compliant.

Oversee platting, grading, stubbing, and final inspections.

Problem-solve field issues and adapt plans to keep momentum strong.

Tools & Technology Proficiency
Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Excel.

Comfortable using construction tracking software and permitting platforms.

Tech-forward mindset with the tools to stay efficient and responsive.

Base Salary

Starting at $170K+ DOE with a highly competitive total package

Location

Onsite at Larry H. Miller Headquarters— Sandy, Utah

Relocation
