Utah Business HR Innovation Award Recipient: Emily’s belief is that while recruitment tools may have modernized, the core tenets remain the same. Mutual respect, genuine interest and a clear alignment of values are, and will remain, the keystones of successful hiring in 2025 and beyond. The emphasis is on both parties—employers and jobseekers—to be authentic and communicative, fostering a hiring ecosystem built on trust and understanding.
How it started: Emily Rushton started her career in 2006 with one of the World’s largest staffing firms. Rushton quickly rose through the ranks, placing among the top 20 recruiters out of approximately 11,000 employees. Rushton went on to become a minority owner at a boutique staffing firm with locations in Tennessee and Utah. Presented with a rare opportunity to join ownership offerings with a local Utah recruiting company, Rushton spent 6 years of her career creating a new division for the company that increased revenue by 185%. During that time, she was featured by Utah Business Magazine for her contribution to the Utah employment sector. Rushton attended Brigham Young University – Idaho.
How it’s going: Emily is happily married to Corey. They have one energetic, train-obsessed son. In addition to running Hire Integrated, she is serving Utah’s American Heart Association 2025 Women of Impact and on the Executive Leadership Team of Salt Lake County for A Bolder Way Forward.
